FAQ

What is the WARDOGS Season 02 Preview?
BULKHEAD's Steam announcement of October 9, 2026 (16:00 UTC) — the first itemized look at Season 2, delivered as the "Road to Season 2" devlog recap. It reconfirms the October 15, 2026 launch date set by the September 22 teaser and lists the season's headline content ahead of the full patch notes.
What new content is coming in WARDOGS Season 2?
Per the preview: four new weapons (TCX Spear, M14, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra) plus new attachments; the Molotov throwable; four vehicles (Wolf-110, Wolf-110 Assault, T-72, Flakpanzer Gepard); three buildables (MG Nest, Large Shelter, Wooden Step); a rain weather preset; and the experimental Wager Vendor.
What is the Wager Vendor in WARDOGS?
An experimental Season 2 feature that lets you bet on yourself: choose objectives, set your stake, and watch a live wager tracker above the minimap. The more objectives you stack, the longer the odds and the bigger the payout. BULKHEAD calls it a first pass and says it may pull the feature mid-season if it proves too exploitable. Note the timing: per the October 14 patch notes, it is not available at the Season 2 launch — it opens later in the season.
When did the full WARDOGS Season 2 patch notes arrive?
October 14, 2026, at 14:59 UTC — the "early next week" delivery this post projected, landed as the "WARDOGS | Season 02 Patch Notes" announcement one day before the season went live on October 15 after a scheduled 08:00–09:30 UTC maintenance. They are summarized on the [Season 2 patch notes page](/patch-notes/season-2-patch-notes/).
What is changing for Lonestar and faction balance in Season 2?
A social experiment aimed at the blue team's low pick rate: all faction spawns move on Bakurani, Lonestar uniforms get more desaturated, and Season 2-only cash and XP bonuses plus a 20% vendor discount for any team trailing by 40+ points try to pull players back. Server hosts caught exploiting the bonus face punishment.

What did the Season 02 Preview announce?

Season 2 has a content list. On October 9, 2026 at 16:00 UTC — six days before the update — BULKHEAD posted the “WARDOGS | Season 02 Preview” on Steam: the first itemized rundown of what the October 15 update actually contains, framed as the “Road to Season 2” devlog recap video below. The post also passes 3 million sales along the way, and closes with an unusually blunt line for a studio riding a hot streak: “If you’d rather hop back in at a later update, or wait for 1.0, that’s completely okay. You owe us nothing.”

WARDOGS — official Road to Season 2 devlog: Season 1 recap and Season 2 preview

One timing note before the list: this is a preview, not the changelog. The post said full patch notes including all balance changes would drop early next week, alongside the Season 2 trailer and the Top 100K clip reveal — and they did, on October 14, 2026, one day before the season went live (Season 2 patch notes). Everything below is what the studio put on record on October 9 — “the surface of what’s coming in Season 2,” in its own words.

Which new weapons arrive in Season 2?

Four, one per class — the biggest single weapon drop since launch, and each fills a hole in the launch arsenal:

  • TCX Spear — Assault Rifle.
  • M14 — DMR.
  • PP-19 Bizon — SMG.
  • Evo-3 Ultra — LMG.

The post adds that the four arrive “supported by a range of new attachments” — no attachment list was itemized in the preview, so treat the specifics as pending the full notes. The preview also quietly showed the Molotov in hand: a wine-bottle improvised incendiary held up at a rainy market stall — “a thrown incendiary that splashes fire on impact and damages anyone caught in its radius,” throwable overarm or underarm, “intended damage and area denial.”

What do the new vehicles bring?

Four vehicles, and the preview gives each a one-line role:

  • Wolf-110 — “A fast, light wheeled transport.”
  • Wolf-110 (Assault) — the Wolf-110 with a ring-mounted M2 Browning.
  • T-72 — “A main battle tank. Slower than the Leopard, but cheaper and far more fuel-efficient.”
  • Flakpanzer Gepard — Anti Air Vehicle.

Two firsts stand out: the T-72 is the game’s second main battle tank, explicitly priced and metered against the Leopard as the cheaper, thirstier-for-upkeep alternative — and the Gepard is the first dedicated anti-air platform in a roster where helicopters have so far only feared CIWS and squads with launchers.

What are the new buildables?

Three additions to the build set:

  • MG Nest — “A manned M2 Browning emplacement.”
  • Large Shelter — “A large metal shelter for covering key assets or keeping the rain off.”
  • Wooden Step — “A step. Made of wood.”

The MG Nest is the headline: a static M2 position that turns a dug-in point into a suppression zone. The Shelter reads as a counterweight to the new rain preset — “keeping the rain off” is the post’s own framing — and the Wooden Step is exactly what it says, which is presumably the point.

How does the rain weather preset change fights?

The preview describes it as a system, not a skin: the rain changes visibility, engagement ranges and sound, interacts with damaged and destroyed structures, and ships synchronized thunder — “temporarily mask footsteps, opening up new tactical opportunities mid fight.” Every existing map condition was built around clear-weather sightlines; a preset that cuts both visibility and audio cues rewrites the close-assault math that the hot-zone guides lean on. Expect the full patch notes to say which maps get the preset and whether admins can force it on community servers.

What is the Wager Vendor?

The season’s most unusual addition, and the one BULKHEAD frames most carefully. The Wager Vendor lets you bet on yourself: choose objectives (“getting X kills in the hotzone, delivering a number of players, and more besides”), set how many deaths you are willing to spend, set your stake, and a live wager tracker above the minimap shows your progress toward winning or losing it. The more objectives you stack onto a wager, the longer the odds and the bigger the payout. It is entirely optional, and it is explicitly experimental — the studio’s own words: “we may well pull it from the game during the season if it turns out to be too exploitable. You’re seeing it early, and we’ll be honest with you about how it holds up.”

For economy watchers this was the first piece of the announced Black Market family to get mechanics on paper — the Wagers concept described there as “announced, not detailed” since September is now a named, itemized feature. It is not the Black Market itself: no trading, no vault, no out-of-match layer — just the bet-on-your-match loop with the stakes turned up. One correction the final notes added: despite this page’s earlier framing, the Wager Vendor did not arrive with Season 2 on October 15 — the patch notes schedule it for later in the season, with no date attached.

What changes for Lonestar and faction balance?

Season 2 runs a social experiment on the blue team. The post states the problem plainly: one faction has “had a notoriously lower win rate than the other two,” but after looking at the data, “sentiment around the blue team is the largest driving factor behind players not wanting to play on it” — so the fix aims at perception, not just numbers: “Lonestar is an established PMC backed by one of the world’s leading economies. Lonestar has cash… and Lonestar needs you.”

The itemized changes:

  • All faction spawns have moved on Bakurani.
  • Lonestar uniforms are more desaturated, so they stand out less against the other factions.
  • Lonestar faction cash and XP win bonus — Season 2 only.
  • Lonestar faction cash and XP multipliers — Season 2 only.
  • A new vendor discount for the losing team: 20% off if they’re at least 40 points behind second place. This applies to all teams, not just Lonestar.
  • Community server hosts found exploiting the faction bonus will be punished.

Every bonus is season-scoped, which means the experiment gets a natural evaluation point when Season 3 planning starts. The spawn reshuffle on Bakurani also invalidates any map notes built on the old spawn layout — those guides get re-verified against the live build once the update lands.

When did the full patch notes land?

October 14, 2026 — inside the “early next week” window the October 9 post projected, delivered as the “WARDOGS | Season 02 Patch Notes” announcement with the promised Season 2 trailer attached (the Season 2 patch notes page embeds it). The notes itemized everything this preview only outlined: calibre-by-calibre damage cuts, the armor and suppression rework, the progression curve cuts, per-vehicle destruction rewards, the drill-rig nerf, and the Lonestar experiment’s numbers — plus the one scheduling surprise, the Wager Vendor held until later in the season. The IR Rangefinders pulled by the October 2 hotfix returned as promised, “running on batteries” with around 80 seconds of active use per battery — the battery cost the hotfix promised, now live. Helmet handling changes shipped as previewed: the Level 4 helmet carries muffled audio, a restricted field of view and sprint fogging, and Levels 3 and 4 got the increased suppression resistance, part of the wider weapon-damage, recoil and suppression pass “aimed at establishing clearer roles across weapon classes.”

Where is the official post?

On Steam: the “WARDOGS | Season 02 Preview” community announcement for app 1867240, published October 9, 2026 at 16:00 UTC. This page summarizes that post; the official version remains the source of record. The same day, BULKHEAD also published its first-ever pre-season press conference — a long-form video Q&A with press and creators working from these same patch notes — as a new communication format alongside the devlogs.
