FAQ

How many vehicles does WARDOGS have at launch?
Around 21 are expected at Early Access launch, up from 20 catalogued during the closed alpha, spanning helicopters, main battle tanks, anti-air, artillery, and ground transport.
How do you unlock vehicles?
Vehicles are bought with your persistent cash wallet, and some additionally require a level on the Driver or Pilot XP track — you level those tracks simply by operating vehicles.
Are fighter jets in WARDOGS?
Not at Early Access launch. Fighter jets are specifically named in the developer roadmap as a new vehicle type planned during Early Access.
What is the cheapest useful vehicle for new players?
A ground transport like the Bobcat or Dune Buggy. Getting your squad to the Control Zone faster is real value, and losing a cheap truck to the 90% death refund hurts far less than losing a tank.
Which helicopter should you fly first?
The MH-6 Littlebird transport. It is the reference helicopter (it even ships with the Supporter Edition) and the right place to grind your Pilot track before touching the rocket-armed AH-6R.

How do vehicles work in WARDOGS?

Vehicles are purchases, not pickups that spawn for free — they come out of your persistent cash wallet, exactly like weapons, and some additionally sit behind a level gate on the Driver or Pilot XP tracks. That makes every tank or helicopter a spending decision with the same 90% refund-on-death tax as any other gear: a lost vehicle is a dent in the account, not a write-off. Around 21 vehicles are expected at Early Access, and the roster spans four roles: air transport, air combat, armor, and ground logistics. The economic context is in the money guide.

What helicopters can you fly?

The rotary wing is where WARDOGS’ combined-arms ambition shows first:

HelicopterRoleArmament
MH-6 LittlebirdAir transportUnarmed
UH-1YAir transportUnarmed / minigun variant
AH-6MLight attackMiniguns
AH-6RLight attackRockets
HavocAir combatHeavy

The split matters: transports move your squad and your Pilot XP, while the AH-6 family and the Havoc exist to turn cash into firepower from above. Pilot-track levels gate the deadlier airframes, so the smart path is taxi duty in the Littlebird until the track catches up with your ambitions.

What tanks and armor are available?

The heavy armor roster at Early Access is deliberately compact:

  • L2A6 — the main battle tank, the anchor of any armored push.
  • Flakpanzer Gepard — anti-air; the answer to the helicopter column above.
  • SPH-2 — self-propelled artillery for standoff damage against fortified positions and FOBs.

Armor is where the economy bites hardest: a main battle tank is one of the most expensive objects you can put on the field, and the FOB building and destruction systems mean dug-in defenders have answers. Bring armor with infantry support, or watch the refund.

What ground transport is there?

The unglamorous backbone of every match: the Bobcat and Kodiak, the Ural truck family (including a Defender variant), the Dune Buggy, and the Humvee with plain, M249, and minigun variants. None of it will win a duel with a tank, but a match is decided by who has bodies inside the Control Zone — and trucks are how bodies arrive. For a new player, buying the squad truck is often the highest-value purchase on the field; the beginner’s guide explains why transport spending beats weapon spending in your first hours.

How do you unlock and buy vehicles?

The same double gate as guns: reach the required Driver or Pilot track level (leveled by actually operating vehicles), then pay the cash price from your wallet each time you field one. There is no separate vehicle currency and no rental timer — just the standing question of whether the vehicle’s value survives contact with the enemy long enough to beat the 10% death tax. Exact per-vehicle prices were not published during the closed alpha and will be catalogued here after the September 10 launch.

What is coming after launch?

The developer roadmap names fighter jets specifically as a new vehicle type planned during Early Access, alongside more vehicle variety generally. Fixed-wing air power will change the anti-air calculus overnight — all the more reason the Gepard exists in the launch roster. This page tracks the roster as it evolves; the current full-mechanics picture lives in the gameplay overview.
